Can it be June already? Warner Bros. has released three action-packed TV spots for Wonder Woman, as well as a new teaser trailer which aired alongside the latest episode of Gotham.
The first teaser, titled “Together” features a lot of new dialogue and footage, including a first look at David Thewlis, who is still rumoured to be playing Ares in the movie. This teaser also reveals how Diana comes to call herself Diana Prince.
This second teaser is titled “Power” and offers a look at some of the more dramatic elements of Wonder Woman. The footage also shows a lot of Gal Gadot in action as the title hero. We also get our first look at the film’s villain Ares but thankfully it’s just a blink and miss piece of footage. I’ve said before and I’ll say again, it would be awesome for the character to be left as a surprise for the film’s release.
The third and final TV spot is titled “Goddess” and doesn’t feature much new footage, we do however get some new dialogue from Gal Gadot and a small look at that great alleyway scene.
Warner Bros. also revealed a new teaser trailer during Monday’s episode of Gotham and it might be the best look at the film we’ve seen yet. We get a lot of new bits of footage, including Diana’s training and more action, but we are also teased with some extremely exciting music. The tone that these TV spots and trailers have displayed is completely different, not only from the DCEU but anything DC Comics has ever released. It really looks like Warner Bros. finally has a winner!
“Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that’s raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.”
Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot as the title character, Chris Pine, Robin Wright as Antiope, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Connie Nielsen, Ewen Bremner, and Lucy Davis.
The film hits theaters on June 2, 2017.
