James Gunn Confirms ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ Will Happen

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn confirms a third movie.

James Gunn recently talked to Complex about his new movie The Belko Experiment and also discussed his work on the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. When asked if a third Guardians movie will happen Gunn straight-up confirmed that it is in Marvel’s plans.

“There will be a Guardians 3, that’s for sure. We’re trying to figure it out. I’m trying to figure out what I want to do really, that’s all it is. I got to figure out where I want to be, what I want to spend the next three years of my life doing. You know, I’m going to make another big movie; is it the Guardians or something else? I’m just going to figure it out over the next couple of weeks.”

I wouldn’t be surprised if James Gunn decided to take a break from the MCU before jumping into Guardians of the Galaxy 3 but it’s exciting to see that he’s continuing the story and that he will stay on as the director. While I’m happy for him to lend the Russo’s these characters, I don’t want to see anyone else direct this group.

Are you happy that a third Guardians of the Galaxy movie will happen? Be sure to let me know in the comments section below!
