DC Extended Universe Film News Wonder Woman

‘Wonder Woman’ Villain Finally Confirmed

Studio Ciné Live recently conducted an article on Wonder Woman revealing some interesting behind the scenes images and details. Including a new look at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Director Patty Jenkins on set the magazine also revealed which DC Comics villain Diana will be facing in her first cinematic adventure.

Translated into English by Les Toiles Héroïques the magazine clearly states that Ares will be the primary villain in Wonder Woman.

“Behind these scientific formulas, there is a deadly gas that could well annihilate humanity. It turns out that it might interest Ares, the god of war. He is jealous of humanity, which is a creation of his father, the deceased Zeus (the Amazons and Zeus rebelled against Ares and Zeus died from the hand of his son)…”

With the WW1 setting of Wonder Woman, it’s not much of a surprise to hear that the God of War is the villain. It will be interesting to see how characters like Zeus and Ares and introduced to the DC Extended Universe which to this point has only seen Aliens and billionaires in nice suits.

Between daydreams of being The Flash, Kieran manages to find the time to read comics, watch movies and keep up with the latest TV Series. The ultimate Superman fanboy his specific interests include the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the DC Extended Universe, and Marvel & DC Comics. Kieran's life goal is to test real-life Iron Man armor. He'd be pretty bummed if he never got to travel the galaxy.
