‘Green Lantern Corps’ Finds Screenwriters + Character Details

Green Lantern Corps

The DC Extended Universe will fully expand with the release of Wonder Woman and Justice League later this year, but the superhero greatness doesn’t end there. Warner Bros. and DC Comics still have Green Lantern Corps set for release in 2020, and the film just found its screenwriters.

Warner Bros. just announced that David Goyer and Justin Rhodes will write the script for Green Lantern Corps. Goyer is known for his previous work in the DCEU writing Man of Steel and early work on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The report from Deadline also reveals that Green Lantern Corps will introduce two fan-favourite Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and Jon Stewart. The report doesn’t offer any other details, other than stating that the film will be like “Lethal Weapon in Space” and will focus on the relationship between Jon Stewart, Hal Jordan, and the Corps.

The pairing of Stewart and Jordan will likely please a lot of fans. These are two very different characters who don’t always get along. Hal Jordan is more of a cocky go-it-alone type while Stewart is an Army man who knows restraint. This should make for a great movie, after all, the best cop films start with an unexpected pairing.

Green Lantern Corps is scheduled for release in 2020.

Between daydreams of being The Flash, Kieran manages to find the time to read comics, watch movies and keep up with the latest TV Series. The ultimate Superman fanboy his specific interests include the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the DC Extended Universe, and Marvel & DC Comics. Kieran's life goal is to test real-life Iron Man armor. He'd be pretty bummed if he never got to travel the galaxy.
