Ryan Reynolds Explains Why Deadpool Isn’t In ‘Logan’

The internet lit up yesterday when The Wrap sparked a rumour claiming that Deadpool would appear in Logan. The news was quickly shot down by Wade Wilson himself Ryan Reynolds, Logan director James Mangold, and even Hugh Jackman.

While fans would love to see Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Deadpool in the same movie, Reynolds took to Twitter to explain why Logan isn’t the right film for that specific crossover.

“I want a Deadpool/Wolvie film but Logan is its own unique & perfect thing. The Big Red Shit-Talker wouldn’t mix with the tone.” Reynolds replied to one fan on his official twitter account.

This actually makes a lot of sense, Logan has a much darker, gritty tone and Deadpool appearing in the film could take audiences out of the dramatic feel of Mangold’s film. The fact that Reynolds wants to see Wolverine and Deadpool on screen together should be exciting enough, we can only hope the star has enough sway to convince Jackman to return to the role. Logan is reported to be the actors final time playing the iconic clawed hero.

Between daydreams of being The Flash, Kieran manages to find the time to read comics, watch movies and keep up with the latest TV Series. The ultimate Superman fanboy his specific interests include the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the DC Extended Universe, and Marvel & DC Comics. Kieran's life goal is to test real-life Iron Man armor. He'd be pretty bummed if he never got to travel the galaxy.
