New Mutants Movie Pitched As A Trilogy

New Mutants

While the future of the X-Men series is uncertain, we do know that Fox is adapting a New Mutants movie, written and directed by Josh Boone (The Fault In Our Stars). In a recent interview with Creative Screenwriting, Boone discussed the process of creating The New Mutants and working with Fox.

“After I made The Fault in Our Stars, we made Fox a comic book, it walked them through a trilogy of New Mutant films that would build on each other. We used this program called Comic Life, and took all the images we had loved from the series and strung them together to show them the movie we wanted to do. We brought it to producer Simon Kinberg and he really liked it. We’ve been going for the past year and a half to get it ready, and I’m about to go location scout and we have a release date now.”

With The New Mutants movie officially on Fox’ schedule we will hopefully hear casting announcements very soon. The films release date hasn’t been announced as of yet, but it’s interesting to hear that Boone and Fox are planning a trilogy of films.

Between daydreams of being The Flash, Kieran manages to find the time to read comics, watch movies and keep up with the latest TV Series. The ultimate Superman fanboy his specific interests include the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the DC Extended Universe, and Marvel & DC Comics. Kieran's life goal is to test real-life Iron Man armor. He'd be pretty bummed if he never got to travel the galaxy.
