Ben Affleck Isn’t Interested In Making A “Mediocre” Batman Movie

Ben Affleck Batman

Ben Affleck isn’t interested in the business of a Batman movie, simply the art of creating an iconic version of the character. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly the director, writer, and actor discussed his upcoming Batman movie and his desire to make a really good movie, not just a financially successful one.

“I’m still working on the script. I’m not going to write and direct anything that I don’t think is good enough to be made. I’m definitely going to make sure I have something that is special, there’s not enough money in the world to make a mediocre version of Batman worth it.”

The Batman seems on schedule to shoot in Spring, but if Affleck doesn’t think the script is strong enough then I doubt the production will meet that deadline. I’m a big fan of the idea that a script is more important than a release date. I’d happily wait a while longer for a better movie.

Between daydreams of being The Flash, Kieran manages to find the time to read comics, watch movies and keep up with the latest TV Series. The ultimate Superman fanboy his specific interests include the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the DC Extended Universe, and Marvel & DC Comics. Kieran's life goal is to test real-life Iron Man armor. He'd be pretty bummed if he never got to travel the galaxy.
